Date: 15th January 2017

Registration: 14 January 2017 at Buffs Club, East London. 10:00am to 15:00pm

ENTRIES: Enter in store at CycleHQ until 12:00pm on the 13 January 2017 or via emailed entry form and EFT payment.

LATE ENTRIES: Late entries will be taken at registration, but will carry a R50 late entry fee and your ride will not be timed.

T-Shirt and head gear to the first 350 entries. Enter early to secure your t-shirt size.

Time: Be at the start of each event at 07h00 - Race starts at 07h30

Start: 80km - Stutterheim

         36km – Macleantown

         20km - Python Park

Finish: Top end of the North East Expressway

Distance: 80km Cycle tour, 36km Fun Ride, 20km Youth Ride (Parents are encourged to ride with their children and enjoy the day)

Substitutions: You may not sell your number, or allow anyone else to ride under than number.

Timing: The events will be timed. Official timimg will stop at 11:30am in order to collate results for prize giving at 12:00pm

Cut off time: Participants must complete the course in 4hrs30mins or less in order to qualify as finishers. Support vehicles and marshals will be withdrawn after the cut off time - 12h00.

Results: A full set of results will be available on the website.

Water Points: 1 water points for the route, ensure you carry enough liquid to keep you hydrated during the course of your specific event.

Age: No cyclists under the age of 13 years old (on race day) are permitted to enter the 80km or 36km Fun ride.

Prize Giving: Will take place at approximately 12h00 at Buffs Club. We will try to make it earlier, as soon as most riders are finished.

 

Rules:

Entry fees are not refundable under any circumstances.

All road and traffic laws and the instructions of all traffic officers and/or marshals must be obeyed.

Wearing of approved cycling helmets is compulsory, in terms of traffic laws.

Riders must keep to the left of the road and must not cross the centre line.

Riders must pull off the road, and STOP to obtain refreshments or to do repairs. Clearly signal your intention to do so.

Riders must stop if so instructed by a Ride official.

Riders must show consideration to motorist, pedestrians and their fellow participants.

Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible person.

Number must be prominently displayed low down on rider’s backs.

All decisions by timekeepers and Ride officials monitoring the event will be deemed final and binding.

Any complaints must be referred to the Disciplinary Committee as soon as possible after the event for arbitration, together with a refundable fee of R50.

On completion of their ride participants must not ride their cycles anywhere near the finish line.

All support services will be withdrawn from the routes at 12h00.

Any rider who decides to change the distance he/she is riding must inform the race organisers at least 30 minutes before the start of his/her race.

The organisers reserve the right to disqualify riders who infringe any of the above Rules.

Routes:

80km Route
Start in Stutterheim (cnr of Maclean & Hill Street) continue on the N6 towards East London (Neutral zone until out of town) turn right at Merrifield circle and continue on North East Expressway until the finish.

36km Route

Start in Macleantown then continue on the N6 to East London (Neutral zone until out of town) Right at Merrifield circle and continue on North East Expressway until the finish.

20km Route

Start at the Python Park then continue on the N6 to East London. Right at Merrifield circle and continue on North East Expressway until the finish.
